Browsing: EU Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia

The European Union is the biggest donor for flood relief in the Republic of Serbia as it has thus far made available more than EUR150 million through its Solidarity Fund and pre-accession assistance instruments in the aftermath of May 2014 floods. EU assistance has so far reached more than 60 000 citizens in 32 towns and municipalities through projects of construction and reconstruction of houses, rehabilitation of public buildings, as well as support to farmers and small businesses.

15 EU-reconstructed Schools

European Union has reconstructed 15 schools, damaged in May 2014 floods, investing EUR1.8 million out of EU Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia Programme. The reconstruction included primary and secondary schools as well as one kindergarten in Obrenovac, Svilajnac, Paracin and Sabac.

European Union Constructed Bridges in Kraljevo

The bridge on the Musa river in Kraljevo, constructed by the EU following the May 2014 floods, was officially opened for traffic today. European Union has earmarked EUR150,000 through EU Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia Programme, to construct two bridges in Kraljevo, on rivers Musa and Lopatnica, fully constructed as of early December 2015.
