Serbia makes progress in fight against corruption

Corruption is one of the biggest issues Serbia faces and in 2014 the country has made progress in fighting it, but many challenges remain, said Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport at the ceremony marking the International Anti-Corruption Day.

IPA II assistance to help Serbia meet political and economic assession criteria

Most of EU donations to Serbia have come from the instrument for pre-accession or IPA that has been implemened in the period 2007-2013, while IPA II regulation sets a new framework for providing pre-accession assistance for the next period 2014-2020 and is aimed at helping countries meet the political and the economic accession criteria, the head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport told a conference on opportunities and challenges that IPA II would provide in the Serbia’s accession talks with the EU.

Visit to Turkey: EU to step up engagement

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, together with Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn and Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides, will pay an official visit to Turkey on 8 and 9 December.

EU flood relief weekly update

The reconstruction of 216 private houses in Krupanj, Obrenovac and Kraljevo is completed so far. The process of reparation and construction of private dwellings is underway for some 600 families throughout 24 municipalities mostly affected by floods. Depending upon the weather conditions, the completion of this intervention is expected in December 2014 – January 2015.
