Stabilisation and Association Agreement with Bosnia and Herzegovina enters into force today

The Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) between the EU and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) enters into force today. The SAA establishes a close partnership between the EU and BiH and deepens the political, economic and trade ties between the two parties. It is from now on the main framework for the relations between the EU and BiH, further preparing the country for future EU membership.

EU membership: Serbia’s strategic choice is first of all about values, equality, unity and solidarity

Along with other friends of Serbia, EU countries immediately came to Serbia’s help during May 2014 floods. Indeed more than 400 personnel from 14 Member States came here to save lives and pump out floodwater during the first days after the floods, working through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

Opinion poll: 59 per cent of Serbian citizens in favour EU membership

The latest opinion poll conducted by TNS Medium Galup, which was presented today by the EU Delegation to Serbia, shows that 59 per cent of citizens, who believe that EU will bring better future and prosperity, are in favour of Serbia’s EU membership and think that the condition for EU accession will be to recognise Kosovo’s independence.

Serbia set to increase economic growth

On 12 May 2015, the EU ECOFIN Council and Finance Minister Vujović jointly adopted recommendations to increase competitiveness and long-term growth in Serbia. This includes strengthening the business environment, stimulating investment, improving public administration and advancing the restructuring and privatisation of state owned enterprises. The adoption of the recommendations was done on the basis of Serbia’s Economic Reform Program which outlines the Government’s economic priorities for the next 3 years.
