European Union has reconstructed 15 schools, damaged in May 2014 floods, investing EUR1.8 million out of EU Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia Programme. The reconstruction included primary and secondary schools as well as one kindergarten in Obrenovac, Svilajnac, Paracin and Sabac.

At the ceremony held at the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra premises, VIRTUS philanthropy awards were handed to laureates for actions and programmes implemented in 2015. Ninth VIRTUS Awards contest has been managed by Trag fondacija, with the support from European Union and Balkan Fund for Democracy, and in direct partnership with USAID.
At the conference marking the completion of the Project “Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in Serbia” Advisor at the EU Delegation to Serbia Steffen Hudolin said that the goal of the Project was the protection of consumer rights.
Due to frequent fires in Roma neighbourhoods, which took the lives of 12 children in recent years, as of next week, fire extinguishers will be installed in 10 municipalities, that is in 22 neighbourhoods in South Serbia, and Roma community members educated on how to use them.
In 2015, over 200 families in Serbia, BiH, Croatia and Montenegro obtained roof over their heads thanks to Regional Housing Programme (RHP). The aim is to support refugee families and internally displaces persons who have not had durable housing solutions for more than 20 years.

In 2015, agreements were signed with municipalities, construction sites opened, keys to apartments handed to refugees and IDPs who have for years, decades even, lived in collective centres.
Exchange Programme kicked off in 2004, with the aim to bring Serbian municipalities closer to, and facilitate implementation of, EU practices. With the financial support from the EU worth some EUR30 million, the projects have been implemented by the Standing Conference of Town and Municipalities.
European Union is the biggest donor for flood relief in Serbia, given that it has thus far made available more than EUR150 million through its Solidarity Fund and IPA instruments. EU assistance has reached over 60,000 citizens in 32 towns and municipalities…
