The European Union has imposed substantial additional sanctions on investment, services and trade with Crimea and Sevastopol. From 20 December, investment in Crimea or Sevastopol is outlawed. Next year, exhibition “Portraits and Memories of the Jewish Community in Serbia before the Holocaust” within the project funded by EU Delegation to Serbia, will be on display in various cities, as a part of culture of remembrance, with a primary aim to introduce these events to young people, elementary school final year pupils and high school students, and engage them in a discussion within workshops organised specifically for that occasion.
In Pancevo, the foundation stone has been laid for a 20-apartment building, funded by EU Delegation to Serbia and aimed at refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs). The year 2015 will be challenging for both the EU and Serbia in economic terms, but EU remains main Serbia’s trading partner and donnor. Seven applications for a total of EUR126.7 million in EU aid to help Italy, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Bulgaria cope with the aftermath of natural disasters in 2013 and 2014 have been approved by Parliament.
