The EU welcomes this endevour of the Serbian Government to engage into structural economic reforms with the ultimate goal to contribute to growth and increase competitiveness and announced measures considers as an addition to reforms launched this summer, said Peter Stano, spokesman of the European Enlargement Commissioner.

The European Union closely follows the situation regarding floods in East Serbia, Delegation is in contact with relevant authorities of the Ministry of Interior and the Government of Serbia and stands ready to provide assistance, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport said.
“High Representative Catherine Ashton welcomes Belgrade’s decision to further extend the freedom of movement arrangements in the coming days to Belgrade Nikola Tesla International Airport and to an additional five border crossing points in the next two months. This follows previous arrangements already in place at two other border crossing points of Serbia with Hungary and Croatia.
During their first visit to Serbia, 10-12 September, members of the the EU Council’s Working Party on Enlargement and Countries Negotiating Accession to the Union (COELA) met top Serbian officials and visited Pancevo and Novi Sad, venues of some of the ongoing EU-funded projects.
From now on, the citizens of Vojvodina and South-eastern Serbia will be able to use free services of EU information points in Nis and Novi Sad. The two EUIPs, operated under the contract with the EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia, will offer accurate information and news about Serbia’s integration into the EU and its many opportunities for Serbia and its people.

Belgrade and Pristina made progress at a meeting in Brussels as technical teams agreed on the IBM crossing points, the EU High Representative’s spokesperson said in a statement.
