Preševo, March 7th 2014 – Swiss Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia Jean-Daniel Ruch visited today the outpatient maternity ward in Preševo, which has been equipped through funding by European Union and Swiss Government through the European Partnership with Municipalities Programme (EU PROGRES).

EU Delegation to Serbia and Commissioner for Protection of Equality organise a debate on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which will be held in EU Info Centre on March 7th, from 17h00 to 19h00.
Representatives of the Republic of Serbia and of the European Commission reviewed the implementation of the Copenhagen EU accession criteria and the implementation of the SAA.
The Ambassador pointed out at the reception organised on the occasion of 11th Belgrade Dance Festival, which takes place from March 30th to April 14th and is supported by the EU Delegation to Republic of Serbia and by Republic of Greece, the country presiding the Council of European Union‚.
In the next period EU will continue providing financial support for the civil sector in Serbia through IPA programmes, but it will also help strengthening the cooperation between civil sector and national authorities; this could be heard in the Define the Civil Society You Want Conference. Minister Selaković noted that more transparent work and funding of civil society organisations is needed.
