The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia has launched a call for proposals within the project “Support to the social inclusion of the most vulnerable groups, including Roma, through more diversified community-based social services”, financed from EU pre-accession funds.

In the framework of the Inclusion of children with developmental disabilities, including Roma children programme, funded by the EU and carried out by the FAMILIA Association, another cycle regarding the training of representatives from interdepartmental committees involved in social security was completed, and the publication CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES – recommendations for evaluation and support was issued.
Thanks to the cross-border cooperation project “Increasing competitiveness and enhancement of cross-border links in the metal industry – EUMETAL 2” funded by the EU, Serbian companies will once again have an opportunity of presenting themselves on the prestigious Industrial Fair in Hanover – Hannover Messe.
The European Union fully supports the process of creating a cleaner environment in Serbia, said Deputy Head of the EU Delegation Oscar Benedict at the opening of the fourth international eco fair, ECO EXPO 2014.
Following the EU-funded reconstruction of the Rectorate of the University of Belgrade, a multimedia classroom for seminars and presentations will be opened in the former attic space of the Captain Miša’s Mansion in early September.
National Medicines Agency of Serbia “sets the right example in country’s EU integration process, especially since Serbia entered the new phase of relationship with EU and launched accession negotiations,” said the Head of the EU Delegation Michael Davenport during his visit to the organisation.
The 4-million euro EU investment into the establishment of a National Medicines Agency (ALIMS) in line with current EU practices scores highly on the list of such efforts in Serbia, as the Agency announced that 2013 has been the best business year since it was established nine years ago.
Festival represents exactly the values of EU, such as cultural diversity, said Michael Davenport, and added that this world famous event brings Europe to Serbia and vice versa.
Two new kindergartens “Lane” and “Sunce” in preschool institution “Nata Veljkovic” opened in Krusevac for which the European Union donated more than 300.000 EUR for its construction and equipment.
Drafting the main projects such as building the Centre for Social Work or social housing, kindergarten and elementary school facilities as well as projects for infrastructure instalment and building the Diagnostic Centre within the Medical Centre in the Erozija housing neighbourhood amounted €92.000.
