Nearly 40 participants of the Youth in Action programme from countries in the region, but also from Italy, Romania and Turkey, visited EU Info Centre and Dom omladine on February 14th.

Nearly 40 participants of the Youth in Action programme from countries in the region, but also from Italy, Romania and Turkey, visited EU Info Centre and Dom omladine in Belgrade on February 14th. Together with the hosts from CET platform, citizens associations which organise Practicing Citizenship, Making A Change project, the participants talked to  Markom Stojanovićem, Director of Dom omladine, as well as to Marina Rakić and Aleksandra Jovančić from EU Info Centre.

Students and young professors from Croatia, Italy, Albania, Romania, Turkey, and Kosovo participate in the project. They talked to the representatives of EU Info Centre and Dom omladine about EU Integration process, about culture cooperation between the countries of Western Balkans, but they also shared their first impressions about Belgrade, where they will be staying in the next seven days.

Youth in Action is a EU programme for youngsters between 15 and 28 years, designed to encourage the sense of active European citizenship, solidarity and tolerance, as well as to make them more involved in the process of shaping the future of European Union.

The programme promotes mobility of the young, inside and outside the borders of EU, as well as informal education, inter-cultural dialogue, and cooperation of the young regardless of their cultural, religious or any other background.

Between 2007 and 2013, the programme supported different activities within five distinct actions: Youth for Europe, European Voluntary Service, Youth in the World, Youth Support Systems and Support for European Cooperation in the Youth Field: ec.europa.eu/youth/youth-inaction-programme/actions_en.htm

Some of the sub-programmes are available for those aged between 13 and 30 years.
