European Integration Office day at EU’s Book Fair stand

Wednesday, 29 October, was dedicated to European Integration Office at the EU’s Book Fair stand in Hall 4. The Office promoted new smart phone app “Europe to go”. Publications “How, why, whether, when… EU?” and “The ABC of European integration” were also promoted, whereas the visitors were able to test their knowledge in an online quiz on European Union and had a chance to win European Integration Office’s promotional packages.

Strengthening Parliament’s role important during EU accession process

Serbia is moving toward an important stage within the process of European integration with its Parliament facing a difficult task of aligning legislation with EU regulations, a heavy burden for the National Assembly of Serbia, which makes the strengthening of its capacities very important, said Oskar Benedikt Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia at the closing conference of Twinning Project “Strengthening capacities of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in the EU integration process”, that he described as “very successful.”

EU Info Point Novi Sad presents “European Mosaic”

The book “European Mosaic” written by Lithuanian Prof. Dr. Gediminas Vitkus was presented to the public in Novi Sad by EU Info Point there, a day after its premiere at Belgrade Book Fair. Prof Vitkus, Head of the Department of European Studies of the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of the University of Vilnius, attended the Novi Sad presentation held at the European Corner of Novi Sad City Library . Thus audiences in Novi Sad had a chance to hear and meet the author of the book published for the first time in Serbian language.

Davenport opens EU stand at Book Fair: Books lead to EU

Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport officially opened the EU stand at the 59th International Belgrade Book Fair and on this occasion said that Serbia made a great progress on the EU path in the last year and that despite challenges and obstacles, membership negotiation talks were not slowed down a day.

EU invests in Danube Region Strategy-related projects in Serbia

Following its 2011 Strategy for the Danube Region, the EU, together with the Austrian Development Agency, has been financing with 19.5 million euros a project called “Socio-economic Development of the Danube Serbia Region.” The project helps Serbia to promote private investments, create jobs and attract foreign investors through infrastructure development, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport said at the opening of the Third Danube Business Forum in Belgrade.
